Alerts and Evacuation
- Save official wildfire alert sources.
- Sign up for local emergency notifications where available.
- Identify at least two ways out of your neighborhood.
- Choose an out-of-area contact and meeting place.
- Keep your vehicle fueled or charged during high-risk periods.
- Know where you could stay with pets if evacuation is needed.
- Follow evacuation instructions promptly.
Go-Bag and Vehicle
- Pack documents, chargers, and medication information.
- Keep masks or respirators recommended by local health officials available for smoke conditions.
- Pack sturdy shoes, long sleeves, and basic eye protection for evacuation travel.
- Keep water, snacks, a flashlight, and a phone charger in the vehicle.
- Carry pet carriers, leashes, records, food, and bowls.
- Plan for pets and access needs.
Home and Communication
- Move easily ignited outdoor items away from the home when risk is elevated.
- Keep address numbers visible from the street where possible.
- Photograph rooms, exterior areas, and important belongings before fire season.
- Store important documents in a protected, portable place.
- Check in with neighbors who may need help leaving early.
- Return only when local officials say the area is safe.
